#Repost @wineworthwritingabout・・・Two confident and exciting new releases from Tassie's legend @pjdredge that speak of cool climate freshness, fruit purity and brightness of acidity. They are lean, they are driven and they are classically Dr Edge! 2020 DR EDGE SOUTH TASMANIAN CHARDONNAYLight straw in colour with a sweetly floral nose of citrus blossoms, Jasmine, lime, Meyer lemon, melon, white stone fruit, green pear, gentle nougat, seaspray and some subtly smokey lees complexity. The palate is intense, focused and chewy with a drive of sweet lime, white stone fruit, pineapple, sour apple warheads and young ginger. Confident and rubbery acidity carries the fruit with tension and grip. There’s a creaminess from lees and quite a fulsome display of fruit that grows with complexity and richness as it travels a long and reaching tail. It’s a Chardonnay that might share more in common with dry Riesling than its counterparts, but it’s undoubtedly moreish and exciting!2020 DR EDGE TASMANIAN PINOT NOIRBlushing magenta with a sweetly floral and finely layered nose of hibiscus, cherry, raspberry, plum, fresh fig, sage, white pepper, paperbark and gentle citrus. A little bit stalky, but pleasantly so.In the mouth it’s on the lighter side with extraction and has so much clarity and daintiness to it. Red berries, rhubarb and red apple lead the way with freshness and a touch of jubiness, gently gripping with fine skinny tannins and riding on a wave of bright cherry acidity. Crunchy and chewy with texture, detailed and pure in its flavours, this is a lovely cool climate, understated Pinot Noir that is for those that like it lean and clean. Delicious. ... See MoreSee Less

#Repost @timbovino・・・Warramate 2017 Yarra Valley SyrahOne of several regions I long to visit is the Yarra Valley, having only visited once some years ago. So it was pleasing to grab a couple of Warramate & Yarra Yering wines recently made by award winning winemaker Sarah Crowe. This cool climate Syrah uses a blend of 20-50yo vines, matured for 12 months in 100% French oak. It’s a lovely cool climate, medium bodied savoury Syrah (Shiraz). Perfumed and fragrant with red berries and licorice, there’s a wonderful peppery underbelly, an elegant and succulent wine with savoury roundness, fine grained tannins and a lingering finish. Perfect with roast chicken. 🍇🍷😋 ... See MoreSee Less

A touch of charred lemon sits in the background. The palate is vibrant and fresh, with a driving intensity that carries ripe red and dark berries, plum, blood orange and hints of ginger and lemonade. The fruit is brightened by a grapefruit-like acidity and textured with fine playful tannins that give texture and grip. This is long, playfully structured and balanced, fading with zippy red currant, cinnamon and a sense of wholeness. Blackberry, black currant, cherry, plums, herbaceous and savoury, leathery tobacco and a bit of chocolate. Dark and brooding but soft tannin which distinguishes Malbec from Cabernet. #Repost @timbovino・・・Rockford 2018 Eden Valley Riesling. The Eden Valley, high in the Barossa Ranges, is punctuated by ancient Red Gums with patches of vines hidden among grazing land and moss-covered metamorphic rock. The vineyards growing in this shallow, rocky soil produce fine flavoured Riesling with a mineral purity that comes from the vine roots pushing through cracks in submerged rock in search of water and scarce nutrients. Whilst Rockford have a cult following and esp. for their Basket Press Shiraz, they also produce 2 ever reliable Rieslings which are typically held back before release providing additional complexity, palate weight and softness. Thankfully this riesling is now sealed under stelvin providing the freshness we all expect from such delicate, aromatic wines whether consumed soon after release or should you choose to age (which I do extensively across multiple producers). Crisp, zesty acidity with fresh limes & citrus notes on a lively palate with a hint of wet slate adding a mineral tinge. Terrific length which leaves a sensation of wanting more. So drinkable and a perfect accompaniment to pasta spinach ricotta, the cheese accentuating the cut of the acidity. Delish! 🍇🥂😋 ... See MoreSee Less

#Repost @lenckdrank・・・I can't help but be drawn in, by this wine. Not only is it delicious and interesting, but what's more, I like the life's philosophy of winemakers and owners, Luke Growden and Carleigh Hunt. 🍷Their website explains beautifully how the name Year Wines, was chosen because its a years worth of living and working their farm, sustaining their chosen, self sufficient lifestyle.🍷Luke and Carleigh live on small average and they grow most of their food, raise their own meat, make cheese and oh yes, they also make wine, through wild ferment and minimal intervention methods.🍷This quote from their website, sums it up pretty nicely I reckon"What’s in our wine? A whole year. 365 days of risk and luck, success and failure, sunburn and campfires, cheese and grazed knees, love and kids, dogs and roosters, the seasons and the land, good food and good times, passion and grapes."🍷2019 @yearwines #wokblend #Grenache #mataro #shiraz🍷This is an expressive medium bodied wine with red cherry and red plum fruits. It's savoury with nice spicy influences through the mid palate with orange peel, walnuts, a lifted floral note of Potpourri, plus a little bit of funk leading towards smooth, even tannins. #verygoodwine  🍷#mclarenvale #southaustralia 🍷This dynamic duo has also just been named as Top Winemaker Finalist for the 2021 Young Guns of Wine Awards, a worthy progression from their Best New Act Award in 2015.🍷Available from Budburst for $24.95 and yes, we have a delivery service all around Australia ... Great drinking, seriously under priced! ............#wine #winelover #vino #winetasting #winelovers #winetime #instawine #winestagram #food #redwine #winery #vin #wineoclock #sommelier #vinho #love #winelife #foodporn #whitewine #instagood #bar #drinks #wineporn #foodie #wines #pinotnoir #morningtonpeninsula #drinkaussiewine #drinkaustralian ... #Repost @aussie.wine.tasting・・・Izway Barossa Bruce Shiraz 2017Picked up a six pack after a recent cellar door visit and tasting with Craig of Izway wines. Put simply all of his wines are very very good. I have a few vintages of the Bruce and they are all high quality wines. I reckon this will age very well like many cooler vintages. Sensational gear. #Repost @the_blonde_wine_addict・・・It’s official .. I’m addicted to Rosé! I just can’t get enough of the stuff. This @artemiswines rosé was a highlight of my day. So fresh and easy to drink. It was the perfect pick to sit back and relax while drinking in the sun. This Sydney weather is outstanding atm considering we were flooding not too long ago. If your ever in the Southern Highlands this is a winery you have to check out. **reel of my visit coming soon 😁#pickaustralianwine #aussiewine #aussierosé #artemiswines #southernhighlandswinery #nswwinery #visitnsw #australianwinery ... #Repost @australianfoodandwine・・・The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is the best Moss Wood I’ve had. The balance is exceptional. The herbal savoury nose jumps out of the glass. On the palate it’s the elegant finesse you expect from Moss Wood, cassis, blueberry, a bit of cola liquorice, bay leaf, sage , tobacco and a bit of cherry. Fine tannins initially that fill the mouth, spicy with a chewiness that zings with acidity. This one will go 20 years at least maybe more..........#wine #winelover #vino #winetasting #winelovers #winetime #instawine #winestagram #food #redwine #winery #beer #vin #wineoclock #sommelier #winelife #foodporn #whitewine #instagood #bar #drinks #wineporn #australianwine #drinkaustralian #margaretriver #cabernet #cabernetblend #australianbeef ...
