The colour is deep, with only a hint of garnet. This is not an exception to the rule that I prefer the elegance and balance of this vintage over the greater power of the ’09s. This is such a beautiful wine, not seeking to hide the red and purple fruits that gently fill the palate and bouquet alike. The tannins are positively silky, and the hint of forest floor ex partial whole bunch fermentation gives the wine perfectly crafted texture and balance. It’s so delicious it’s impossible for restraint, but if for any reason you need to keep whatever other bottles you have in the cellar, don’t be worried – it may not improve much (it’s only  just at its plateau now), but it’s got another five years minimum before you need to even check progress (if you haven’t already been unable to resist the temptation).
